Things That Make You Go "Hmmm?" (Link to ARC)

Just for fun, folks. Read what the "American Resistance Corps" has to say about itself. I wonder if they know how silly they sound? I guess even though they have membership in eight different countries, they can't find someone articulate enough in English to explain what they think!

Here's the specific link to the page that entertained me the most: http://www.geocities.com/ARCOrg/ARCBeliefs.htm

In particular:

"Every white person, be they poor or middle class, educated or ignorant, male or female, gay or straight, athletic or intellectual, Christian or atheist, Southern or Northern, etc.. etc.. is entitled to the most freedom possible to bestow upon any individual in a collective society. "

I guess what they meant by "athletic or intellectual" was "jock or geek!"

And from their "Racial Bill Of Rights:" (BTW; the term "racial is the circa 1990 PC way of saying "racist.")

"II. Culture.
We have the right not to resist the forced indoctrination of alien cultures and customs."

Uhh...ok, yeah.

"IV Genetic Diversity
"...Only in breeding souly with other members of our race ...

Dude needs a grammar lesson. But he probably won't take one from me since I'm not totally white.

McInformation

One thing that struck me was a particular lawsuit involving a UK small business because of its name and the use of "Mc."And it was owned by a Scottish woman, no less! They tried the same thing in Denmark and China. McDonalds has a long history of suing those who speak out against it, as the 13 lawsuits in the past 20 years show. And that's just in the UK, where, as you will read in the link, the McDonald's lawsuit of two activists was the longest court battle in UK history.

While the UK courts ruled in favor of McDonald's, the activists refused to pay damages to the chain. They then sued their own government in the European Court of Human Rights, which ruled in their favor.

Indy Media Ireland

A most excellent indy media outlet covering Ireland, Britain, and the World. There's a fairly large archive and a filter covering 21 topics, including anti-capitalism, environment, Irish social reform, an so on.

You Americans especially, please take a look and get a different perspective on these events.

Free Speech TV

In their own words: "Free Speech TV: What Democracy Looks Like."

Free Speech TV is competent and relevant journalism. See it on Dish Network channel 9415, the only network with the guts to air it. Charter Media carries the station on some local access channels, but nowhere in the South except Atlanta and Lafayette (big surprise.)

"Every day and night, hard-working people come home from their jobs and turn on their TV sets. Never before have they had so many channels to choose from, yet never before have their choices been so limited. ... Americans want a channel that is dedicated to asking the hard questions about the issues affecting their kids’ future. They want a channel that’s not afraid to confront abuses of power that rob them of jobs, health care, a meaningful education, a clean environment, civil rights for all, and a government by, for and of the people. . . .Free Speech TV stands alone in the industry in its dedication to creating such a channel."
Michael Moore. Director, Roger and Me, Bowling for Columbine

An apt, if slightly sappy, description.
